It’s been a while
since I’ve posted my daily thoughts, partly because the past couple of months
have been tough, and partly because I started developing this horrible habit. My
mind has become clouded by thoughts. It’s been negative versus negative. As a
kid I was taught to hide my emotions and that was the start of this negative
self-talk, that constant little voice that kept telling me “I was never good
enough anyways”. It still is a constant battle I fight till this day; the only
difference now is that I now know I am in control of my thought, emotions and
actions. I choose to seek positivity in every situation. Instead of asking
myself “why is this happening to me?” I ask myself “what can I learn from this?”.
Someone once shared
with me this quote.

I went
through the last couple of month in a haze, trying to capture a sense of
clarity. And the more I fought it the thicker is became. The constant conversations
were so negative and loud that I couldn’t find hope. It was if I was being suffocated
by my own mind. It was swallowing me up whole and I couldn’t get out. My first
thought was to surround myself with family and friends that lift me up but it
didn’t work. I found that I started pushing people away, I became closed off
and I didn’t care. I looked for answers in someone else when I, had all the
answers.
It
wasn’t until my absolute worse thought came across, I knew I had to pick myself
back up and move forward. I spent time alone with myself and my thoughts. I
went to my darkest place knowing that I would be strong enough to get myself
out, I cried and I hated the thoughts that used to consume. And with one positive
action, I became more and more aware of my own reactions. Each day I would do
something that my mind said I couldn’t do, and when I did it, another voice
spoke louder “I knew you could do it”. I started listening to that voice,
little changes that made big difference. Instead of becoming a slave to that
negative self-talk, I became a prophet of positivity.
For example,
waking up the first thing I thought about were the people I loved and how
thankful for having them in my life. I thank the universe for letting me have
one more day to live out my purpose. Waking up with a grateful heart started
changing my response to the world negativity. Now, it’s a challenge I fully
accept.
I
shared this with you because I know how easy it is to get trapped in an endless
dark hole and how hard it can be to get out of it. But you can get out it, you
have to trust yourself.
Fall Fashion Essentials
Hola! Surprise! These
are my top five essentials for the fall. Fall is my favorite season because it
starts to get cooler and I get to wear sweaters and beanies which are my
favorite clothing items. My style in general is very laid back, kind of like “diary
of lazy girl” I love being comfortable and adding some pops of awesomeness to
my wardrobe.
I’m absolutely in love with the
colors burgundy, mustard yellow and khaki for the fall. I’m slowly learning how
to incorporate key pieces in my outfits that are a little more feminine.
Because I’m so used to wearing basic clothing that I want to spice things up a
bit. I basically want to look flawless
all the time. YASSSS! GIRL! Lol. But these are my essentials for the colder
months. Let’s get to it!
1 I fell in love with these Matty M leggings the
moment I put them on. I instantly knew they would become a staple in my closet.
One of my favorite things about these leggings is how think the material is and
it form to your body shape. But its super stretchy at the same time. Lets be
real, these are the perfect pair of bottom to wear when you want to go to all
you eat sushi. You can find them online for around $30’s but I bought my pair
at Costco for half the price. It was a STEAL!
2 My ear tends to get cold so I love wear beanies!
Although here in SoCal it doesn’t get that cold, so I end up wearing my beanies
at night. And if you’re having a bad hair day this will be perfect to cover up
that lion’s mane. I currently, have over 20 beanies in a variety of colors, but
my favorite color has to be this mustard yellow. You can pick these up
anywhere, but I bought mine at forever 21 in the men’s section
3 Cold weather= sweater weather. I probably live in
over-sized sweaters during the fall and winter. I love going to thrift stores to
find over-sized grandpa sweaters. Their comfy and if you pair them with some
leggings and cute booties, you’re all set. Also, turtle necks are my thing when
it comes to the colder months. I’m absolutely in live with this gorgeous wine
over-sized sweater.
4 Fringe Booties. When it comes to shoes, I love
ankle booties! I have not found a pair of knee high boots that will stretch
over my buff calves. But these are perfect because I don’t have to worry about
that. Lol. I love the fringe detail and the color was calling to me. And right
now it’s on sale! I know I’ll get a lot of use out of these.
5 last but not least, suede sneakers. EPPP! I love
these soo much. I fell in love with the color and they are so cute. They remind
me of a pair of Adidas I had when I was younger. I couldn’t resist picking up a
pair when I saw them on the Windsor website. And I saw Desi Perkins wear the
same pair so I had to get a pair for myself.
Well that’s it for
right now. Thank you so much for stopping by. Let me know what some of your
fall essentials are in the comment section below. And I hope you are having an
amazing day!
HOLA! Surprise! Today I wanted to share my favorites for
the summer. These aren’t in any particular order but these are these are the
items I’ve been absolutely in love with. Some were game changers for me in the
hot summer Cali Months.
Jaclyn Hill Face palette by
Becca: Limited Edition
I was dying to pick this up when it
came available for purchase. And I’ve loved it ever since then, this was the
kick start to my highlight high for the last couple of months. My favorite
check combination is Amoretto and champagne pop mixed with prosecco pop as the highlighter
and it give me such a luminous look to the skin. A little bit goes a long way,
unless you’re into the shining like a disco ball look, then go for it girl. I
use it constantly and it adds so much light to my face during the summer
months. These two highlighter can complement any skin tone. You can’t purchase
this at Sephora anymore but you can buy them individually.
When
I purchased this product, I didn’t think much of. But this is become a vital
part of my skincare and make up application. I use this every day after I get
out of the shower or wash my face. I use this before I add my primer and I also
use it to set my face after I’ve finished applying my face. I though the scent
would annoy me but you can’t tell it’s not you and I’ve grown to love the
scent. It brightening and moisturizes my face and I love how refreshing it
feels every time I spray it.
I fell in love with this product
overnight, literally. It makes my skin feel so soft and moisturized. I love
waking up and touching my face. Seriously, it does wonders! Especially since
the colder months are coming up, make sure to keep your skin moisturized. I
picked this up at target for $25 and it has become my go-to facial mask.
These under eye masks have been a
life saver for my late nights and sleep deprived eyes. Lol. It nourishes and
revives my under eyes back to life. It’s like magic!
I’ve been on the
fence about getting one of these but when my best friend bought it for my
birthday and told me I had to try it out, I jumped on it. And she was right, I love
it so much. It blends my foundation like a dream and it makes my skin feel
flawless. I love that it is super
buildable and it won’t make it look too caked on. Now, I only use this on my
skin.
Tarte Amazonian 12 hour clay blush in Dazzled :
Tarte Amazonian 12 hour clay blush in Dazzled :
I’ve been a big fan of Tarte’s Amazonian
blushes but this one is my favorite. It compliments my skin tone and last all
day. I love the pigmentation and the color pay off. I haven’t found a color similar
to this in my makeup collection. This blush color would fit a variety of
different skin tones, also it’s great to transition to the fall
This is the only product I’ve been
using on my eyebrows for the last four months. The color is rich and blendable.
I love that it tames my wild eyebrow hairs and it applies effortlessly. The
spoolie is awesome for brushing out your hairs. The brush end is very precise and
it makes shading my eyebrows a lot easier. It has cut my eye brow routine in
half.
I don’t know where this has been
my entire life, but I am head over heels with this eyeliner at the moment. I
use it for my minimal makeup looks or my going out on the town. The color is
pigmented and is the truest black I’ve found. It doesn’t flake and it wears
really well throughout the day. I’ll be picking up the full sized product later
this week. The brush tip is very precise and it does not tug on my eye lid and
it glides on perfectly each time.
I’ve used this product on and off the
last couple of years but this summer I grabbed it every time I did my eyebrows.
It does a great job of lifting and highlighting my eyebrows. It’s the perfect
pencil for putting that final touch to your eyebrows.
I’m a huge fan of ColourPop! At this
point I’m a bit obsessed. I’ve loved this color on its own or with NYX butter
gloss in éclair. It’s the perfect pinky nude. This formula is comfortable on
the lips and they have a whole bunch of colors.
This has been one of my favorite
butter glosses since I started wearing makeup. I have at least 3 back ups of
this gloss. It smells so good and its pigmented. It isn’t sticky like a lot of
lip glosses. They have soo many colors so you’re bound to find a color you love.
This matte formula is my favorite
of all the matte liquid lipsticks I’ve tried. The pigmentation is amazing. It
does not dry out your lips and it does not fade throughout the day. I eat and
drink with this on and it is still there. Limbo has been the one color that I’ve
reached for a lot this summer.
Well that is all of my summer favorites. I would love to
know what some of your favorites were! I hope you are having an amazing day! Thank
you so much for stopping by!
Meeting Robbie Keane and Bradford
Jamieson IV
Nathan’s parents are
season ticket members for the LA Galaxy. So when his mom asked me if I wanted
to go to an autograph signing session with one of my favorite players I said “HELL
YES!” Although, I also really wanted to get an autograph from Landon Donovan
and Steven Gerrard. But I’ve been a
HUGE fan of Robbie Keane for a while; I was really excited to see him up close
and personal.
I
believe they randomly chosen and you had designated colored wristbands to meet
the players. We received the “gold” wristbands to meet Robbie and Bradford.
By the time we got to the Stub Hub center I was starving, since I just got off work. They had a couple of food trucks there so we picked up a couple of different items. Everything looked so yummy to me! I had sandwich that had cheese, avocado, bacon (Kerry ate that because I don’t eat pork), turkey with a side of chipotle chicken fries. It was seriously delicious. My siblings and Kerry had a Salmon cheese Quesadilla, Jerk Chicken Quesadilla, with a side of garlic tater tots from The Street Kitchen food truck.

The schedule:
- Training session @ 5:30 P.M.
-Q & A with Bruce Arena and LA galaxy President Chris Klein.
-Autograph session @ 7:30 P.M.
We sat in the stands for a good 30 minutes waiting for people to get their autographs, this was very well organized. We went to last year’s event and it was a hot mess. Robbie was really nice and asked how our day was and signed a jersey and a poster. Bradford was hilarious and really nice to talk to. After the autograph signing we stuck around to play at the different booths. They had caricatures, a money booth, and fun little activities for my little brother to play. It was a great event. I’m excited for next year’s event. Anyways, that’s about it! I hope you are having amazing day! Thank you for stopping by! And remember…

Happy birthday to me

We
had a ton of fun relaxing and exploring Balboa. There was hardly anyone on the
beach and it wasn’t too hot outside. Kayaking is one my favorite activities
because you can do it with a group of 20 or by yourself. There’s something
about the journey when you kayak, choosing which way to go, hoping you don’t
lean too far over to one side to flip the kayak, and the wind on your face.

QUICK TIPS:
Tip#1
you don’t have to spend a lot of money on an adventure! We use Groupon every
time we want to be adventurous; they have some really awesome deals for
activities and on rare occasions they have concert tickets for half price. We
searched Groupon for our kayak and we received 50% off the regular price which
is pretty awesome!
Tip#2
Bring water shoes and dress comfortably. Last year, I wore my jean short and
they were soaked and I had to walk around with saggy short. This year I was
prepared and wore my bathing suit underneath my swimming shorts.** 2 points to
Gryffindor.
Tip#3
stay hydrated! Odds are it’ll be hot and the sun will be beaming down on you so
be prepared to feel thirsty. Better to be prepared then to not be.
When we arrived at
the rental place, they gave us our life jackets and our paddles. We rented them
for 2 hours for $19, it was a steal. I was the only one that wore my life
jacket, while everyone else stared at me. I would rather be safe than sorry.
#ByeGirl. They provided everything that we needed, so all we have to bring was ourselves and a bottle of H2O.
We
spend most of the time on the water, looking at all the boats and trying not to
tip the kayak too much. My husband kept telling me that was leaning too far to
the left.-__-. Everyone tried to get on the paddle board but ended up falling over. It was the highlight of the afternoon. Next time, we are going to rent it for a longer period of time, but my arms were super sore the next morning so i know i had a good work out. I had a great time with my family and I’ll do it again next
year, but at a different part of the beach.
Well that’s pretty much it for this adventure! I
hope you have a wonderful day!

Every year, my best friend and I try to take at least two trips together. We call it our best friend trip, with our busy lives we hardly see each other and this way we get a two for one: an adventure and getting the low down on our current life situation. It was her turn to choose our destination. She ended up choosing Portland which was super random but I thought “what the heck!” I’ve never been. Portland itself was beautiful, surrounded by lush green trees and beautiful landscaping. Our time there was spent drinking beer, eating at food trucks and exploring everything that Portland had to offer.
We explored
the Powell bookstore, walked through Washington Park, bought donuts at the
famous Voodoo donuts and went shopping because Oregon does not have sales
taxes!!. SO basically, we spent most of our time shipping, reading and eating a ton of food.
On our second night in Portland we went on a "Haunted Beer Tour" with Beer Quest Walking Tours. Our tour guide took us around Portland and told us historical stories of different buildings and what spirits still roam the land. Creepy, I know right! We tried over 7 different beers from 2 local bars, meet some really cool people traveling through Portland, and explored more of the city.

The
Original Dinerant Restaurant: 300 SW 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97204
Walking around Washington park was amazing! Our first stop was the Japanese Tea garden. It was super sprinkling all day, its a good thing I packed my windbreaker and Lisa brought her umbrella. The park was so beautiful. We stopped by the Rose garden as well. Everywhere we went there was lush green grass and trees, beautiful flowers and the smell of rain on the asphalt.
The best part of our trip was eating at different cafe's and i tried Dutch Bros for the first time. OMG! it was delicious. sadly, we do not have any here in southern California. Now every new city I explore, the first thing I do is see if there is a Dutch Bros.
It was a very relaxing trip for the both of us and we got to experience a new city together.
Now, we get
to plan our next trip. WOOHOO! Where shall we go next?

At what age are you supposed to have it all figured
out? 30? 50? 70?

I’m
transforming, learning and changing constantly. There hasn’t been a day that
has gone by where I question whether or not I’m making the right decisions. The
truth is, no matter what decision you make, you’ll eventually get to where you
want to go. On the eve of my 25th birthday I cried for a good 30
minutes. I made it a point to write down the goals I will achieve and the
dreams I’ll turn into reality. I cried because of all the amazing things I will
grow through. There was a point in my life where I let the chaos overwhelm me,
now I welcome it. Among that chaos I find my strengths and the truest part of
myself. I’ve always been a fighter. I am fighter for my family, dreams and
future. So I made a declaration to myself to be the best me I can be, to continue
my fight even if it takes me years to achieve my vision. I’m excited for what’s
to come!
